When we search for our meaning in life, it usually centers around purpose. Why we're here and what we're meant to do. For young people in high school and college, this is especially true. What it is and how teens and college students can cultivate purpose is the topic of my conversation with Kendall Cotton Bronk, a developmental scientist and professor of psychology at Claremont Graduate University. Kendall and her colleagues have done extensive research on positive youth development and the moral growth of young people, with a lens focused on character strengths like humility, gratitude, hope, and patience.

As you’ll discover in this episode, body image or body dysmorphia, as it is often commonly referred to, is not the same as Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Robyn Stern a LCSW and therapist, joins me to define the key variables and signs that can make a significant difference in identifying, seeking and getting the right kind of effective support. She’ll also share her own lived experience with BDD, how to discuss when you have concerns about BDD, and common misconceptions that can cause harm.

As a child, nobody hands you a manual on how to be a teen to prepare you. Suddenly the teenage years arrive and they're full of confusing physical & mental changes, life experiences and social messages.
Problem is, there’s limited health & wellness information specific to a teen’s body and a teen’s unique phase in life. Sure, there’s plenty of health and wellness information for adults but that doesn’t always cut it. A teen's life is different, their body is different.
